We Love These Birds
Mom looked them up, and apparently they are Great-Tailed Grackles. They'e in the corvid family, like ravens and crows. This one is a male--the females are smaller, and brown, and you don't see them as much (perhaps they are back at the nest, barefoot, pregnant, and chained to the twig?). They are all over Texas, in huge flocks, and they make all sorts of tweety, whistly, swoopy noises, like dolphins. They like to hang out in big parking lots and eat bugs out of the undercarriage of the cars.
